Solo Pace is a small, invite-only running app. This page says what it keeps about you, where, and who else sees any of it. If anything here isn't clear, email hello@solopace.co.uk.
What's kept
- Your account: the name you signed up with, the invite you used, and a profile photo if you add one. You sign in with a key, not a password.
- Your runs from Garmin: times, distance, route, heart rate, pace, cadence, power, elevation and the other figures your watch records.
- Your history, if you upload a Strava export: the activities and files in it.
- What you put in: races, training settings, your plan, notes on runs, gear and car parks.
- Your Garmin link: your Garmin password is used once, to link your account, and isn't stored. Only the tokens Garmin gives back are kept, so your runs can be fetched.
Where it's kept
On Solo Pace's server, which is hosted by DigitalOcean in New York, and on your phone. That means your data is stored in the United States. It stays until you ask for your account to be deleted, and then it's removed.
The coach
The coach is an AI model made by Anthropic. It runs on your own Anthropic key, which stays on your phone and isn't sent to Solo Pace. When the coach writes a plan or reads a run, your phone sends Anthropic what that needs: a summary of your recent training, the run in question, your plan, your races and settings, and the notes you've left. Your name and your sign-in key aren't sent. Anthropic's own terms cover how they handle it; under those terms, what's sent through a key like yours isn't used to train their models.
Runs that went to plan are checked on your phone and aren't sent anywhere.
Who else handles it
- Garmin, to fetch your runs.
- Anthropic, for the coach, through your own key.
- DigitalOcean, which hosts the server.
- OpenStreetMap, for maps: your phone asks for the map tiles of the area on screen.
There are no adverts, and your data isn't sold or passed to anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to how it's used. The app can already save your plan, notes and settings to a file. For anything else, email hello@solopace.co.uk. If you're in the UK and unhappy with how your data's been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this changes, the new version goes here with its date, and anything significant is shown in the app.
